Film forever…

Last week my mate Maurice and I headed over to Eindhoven. Just to have some color film developed from my Hasselblad.. We stopped at “de berenkuil” a nice place where graffiti spraying is legal. Anyway it’s a colorful place to take some photos.. Shots taken with my Nikon F3 and overdue Kodak 200 gold expired in 2005…. I love film photography it’s just back to basic, and no boring time behind a computer, trying to establish a look that film gives… Film forever!

How to catch a bullet just going supersonic…

Last week I used the mighty 400mm at the Pampa Range in Belgium. The weather was not good, but good enough for me to catch a speeding bullet fired from an F16 fighter jet, going supersonic. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing on my computerscreen… I actually captured the shockwave of a bullet on camera… Next month I will return to the range
because I really want to catch some A-10′s at the range… Enjoy!

The right tools for the job…

I have a little photo assignment in Belgium next week, where I need a long lens since my Nikon 70-200 isn’t long enough for the Job. So I contacted Nikon NPS if I could borrow a long lens. No problem, very kind support from Nikon. Roeland Koene, the coordinator of Nikon NPS, hooked me up with a 400mm f2.8 VR lens and a TC-17EII teleconverter.. What a magic lens! So today I went to Niederrhein-Weeze airport to testdrive the lens, and get my self familiar with such a big gun. Extreme sharp lens! to bad it has to be returned..

Spangdahlem AFB Open House 2011

While on vacation in the region, I visited the Spangdahlem open house. Nice to see the A-10C Warthog in action. The A-10 West Coast Demoteam and the F-16 Viper West Demoteam provided a nice air display.

Vacation 2011

My family and I went on an eight day vacation in Germany in the Saarland region. The weather could have been better, but anyway vacation is always relaxing, getting the battery charged again.

Fallen but not forgotten….

Last saturday my son and I visited the American Battle Memorial cemetery in Margraten. A little village 6 km’s east of Maastricht. Situated nicely in a nice green surrounding.

Here lay the remains of 8301 fallen US soldiers from the WWII conflict, 6 of these men recieved the Medal of Honor. And sadly quite a few unknown soldiers.

Landschaftspark Duisburg

An old crane left to rust.. Last month my mate Maurice and me went to the “Landschaftspark Duisburg”. An old abandoned steelfactory in the hart of the Ruhr area. The blast-furnaces are still there to be visited for tourists.. and beautifully lit at night..
